Sean Scarlett decided to make up for lost time by studying at The Second City and The Purple Rose Theatre. Sean has completed over 40 projects that include short and feature films, webisodes, commercials, and voice-overs. He enjoys watching the film industry expand in Michigan and looks forward to the future. Currently Sean is taking sabre fencing lessons at Oakland University for the webisode series “Live-at-Home Hitmen”.
Sean grew up in the Metro Detroit suburbs. He attended public school for a brief stint but was soon enrolled in Catholic school until his graduation. Most of Sean’s extracurricular activities came from playing sports. It was his father’s passion for athletics that led Sean to discover them as well. A prime example came the day he learned to walk: soon after, his father bought him a pair of ice skates and took him to a local pond to learn to skate as well. In addition to playing hockey Sean also played baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and broomball.
His college years were spent as far removed from the classroom as possible, but eventually he discovered acting. By chance one afternoon Sean saw a flier on a bulletin board that was seeking actors for a movie. He followed up with a call but nothing materialized from it. That challenge forced him to hone his focus. Within a week his brother got him an audition at his college for a student film. After completing the audition Sean couldn’t put into words what the experience felt like and knew right then his “safe” degree in business had suddenly become his back-up plan.
